Bonjour!
On January 9th (day 6) in France we went to two companies Charles de Gaulle Airport and Galeries Lafayette Mall. We learned many interesting facts at both places. Charles de Gaulle is the airport we flew into from New York so it was cool seeing it from a different perspective. This airport has a huge freight area that includes companies such as DHL, UPD and Fedex. At the airport I learned that security is its highest expense. I was not surprised when I learned this due to how advanced technology is these days.
The inside of Galeries Lafayette was very open and pretty which we learned is a marketing technique they do to attract woman. The mall had many large balconies as you can see in the photo. Our tour guide explained to us that the reason you can see so much from anywhere in the mall is because Galeries Lafayette thinks if people see others shopping than they will want to do the same. We learned that the set up of the mall is similar to the stock exchange because each company has to rent out a table. Our tour guide was referring to them as trade tables which really reminded me of being on the floor at the stock exchange. We even got to go on the roof where we saw some of the best views of Paris including the Eiffel Tower!
At night we went to see PSG also known as the Paris- St. Germain soccer team play. Even though they ended up losing, the game really showed me how large the soccer community is here in Europe. The fans are very loyal to the teams.
I can’t believe how fast this trip is going by!
