For our fifth day in France we started off our day around 7:45 in the morning and hopped on the train went to the city of Rouen, located in a quaint suburban area about an hour and a half away. We were led by two different guides, one of which was man named Valentine who wore a very typical french beret. We walked around the streets of Rouen and got so see many historical landmarks such as the site where the Joan of Arc was hung, which is pictured below.
As we walked a bit more we got to see the beautiful architecture of older homes and also came across many churches. One of which was the tallest gothic cathedral in the world. Intricate designs covered the entire structure as it soared into the sky.
After wandering the streets of Rouen, we arrived at another Lasallian school named Uni La Salle. The school mainly focused on agricultural sciences. We had the chance to meet with other students who attend a Lasallian school, most of which spoke very well English. One of the directors at the school gave us a tour of the campus where we got to explore the different facilities that they provide for their students.
As a group we ended our day with a delicious dinner at a small italian restaurant. People enjoyed bread (of course!), pasta, pizza, and a glass of wine. I am excited to see what the rest of the week brings!
