Our third day in Paris began with an early morning walking tour of the Montmartre district. The area is currently populated by artists, as it was in the past. Montmartre was home to many famous artists, such as Picasso and Van Gogh. We arrived early enough that the streets were empty, it seemed like we had the neighborhood to ourselves to explore. We walked up and down the winding, inclined streets, finding new cafes and shops around every corner. To conclude this excursion, we visited the Basilica Du Sacre Coeur De Montmartre. Being the highest point in the city, the view was fantastic. We were lucky enough to visit the inside of the church while mass was going on, it was lively and quite the experience.

After leaving Montmartre, we took the subway back towards the city center. We took a walking tour of some unique neighborhoods and markets. To conclude this eventful day, we took a boat tour of the Seine. This was a great way to learn more about the layout of the city and get an up close view of all the iconic Paris attractions.

  1. Visiting Montmartre was my favorite part of the trip! The artwork and history that filled the neighborhood was so interesting. The Basilica was especially beautiful, and the view from the top of the hill was fantastic. I enjoyed walking through the markets that we visited later that afternoon, the food was delicious. The third day of our trip was definitely one of my favorites!
