The Completion of an Asian Adventure: Singapore and Malaysia

January 11th was last day to explore before the international field study seminar was complete, and we had to leave the luxurious country of Singapore. We all made sure to make our last day enjoyable. The day started off nicely, because we did not have to wake up until 10am, which gave us students time to prepare for travels the next day and eat breakfast.

As a group, we visited Gardens by the Bay, which is a popular tourist destination as well as a local favorite. In addition to the iconic Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay also has two conservatories - the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. The Flower Dome is the world's largest glass greenhouse and houses a wide variety of plants and flowers from different regions and seasons. The Cloud Forest, on the other hand, replicates the cool and moist conditions of a tropical mountain and features a 35-meter tall indoor waterfall. Here, I was able to enjoy a variety of unique flowers that I had never seen before.

After this, we all met back at the hotel to have a final meeting with Professor Shah. Here, each individual was able to discuss their highs and lows of the trip, and which business visit they enjoyed the most. It was interesting to see the different perspectives and how each student had their own struggles as well as favorite moments. One of my favorite moments was finding a gorgeous wedding dress shop with an immaculate gown. This was very exciting to me because wedding dresses are my guilty pleasure.

Our farewell dinner was at Cappadocia restaurant, which included delicious Turkish cuisine, including one of my personal favorite deserts, Baklava. The workers were very kind and accommodating to the many allergies shared by some of us students. This dinner served as a beautiful conclusion to our amazing trip. After dinner I decided to shop one last time in the gorgeous mall, as well unwind at the arcade. I met so many beautiful people on this trip and it is an experience I will be grateful for forever!
