A Day in the Life of Visiting Rome, Italy: Vatican and Spanish steps

Welcome to my blog dedicated to the Vatican City. We explored the fascinating history, art, culture, and religious significance of the Vatican City with Brother Robert. Join me as we delve into the rich tapestry of this unique city-state and its role in the Catholic Church!

Since we first arrived in Rome one of our stops had to be the Vatican. The Vatican is the spiritual enter of the Catholic Church. It is home to to priceless artworks, such as Michaelangelo's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Getting to see it in person is such an amazing experience. I was so overwhelmed with the beauty of the Vatican and its rich history making it such a meaningful place to explore.

St. Peter's Basilica stands as an iconic symbol of the Vatican City. It is a must-see when visiting Rome!

The Vatican museums house an array of artifacts from ancient Roman and Egyptian masterpieces. The standout attraction of the museum complex would have to be the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo's stunning frescoes! It was such an unforgettable experience visiting Vatican City!

After visiting Vatican City, a couple of us decided to visit the Spanish steps. The Spanish steps are a set of 135 steps in Rome linking the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinita dei Monti. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the city.  The view from the top of the steps was breathtaking. The area is surrounded by many places to shop, making it a big tourist attraction.
