HELLO peoples, I am actively laying down on my bed about to get ready to watch a bunch of Disney-related stuff or content that reminds me of Paris because tomorrow, I will be flying out to Paris to spend my spring break in peace. So excited that even the hotel room is going to HIT sooo nice, I need a break from these beds. Before I even yap about spring break, which I probably won't on this post but within the future I will, let's talk about today and yesterday.
Today and yesterday, I filmed my short film Acting Straight. It's a comedy with romance, but not a romantic comedy because nobody at AUR has the chemistry needed to pull it off, however we replace the need for love for the need to laugh at us. Us meaning me and Nalu as we have to look like the opposite gender in order to prove Nalu's character's theory. The wig was not wigging and the mustache was not mustache-ing, to summarize it we were going through it. I cannot do mascara and the tight clothing females wear, I can't imagine doing that everyday. My eyes were hurting like CRAZY. Nonetheless, we filmed all day today and yesterday, but it was overall a great experience. Learned how to be a director, but to self-direct, the boom mic situation, and how to translate your vision onto the screen. I was so excited to be on set even though set was my apartment which I was still happy about because it didn't require me to leave my apartment and got to lay down on my bed anytime.
I'm glad that I did this. There was a good 10 minutes where I thought about pulling the plug on the movie and just calling it a day, and I was extremely close to doing it just because of scheduling conflicts with my prior actors and 3/4 of the original cast dropping out (some last minute) and just having the worst headaches and stress pimples and a fat feeling (I overate and felt like puking- yuck). It was awful, but we figured a way to persevere and it turns out super duper good. I can't wait for AUR to see it, it's gonna be extremely weird. Hoping I don't traumatize them too much.
