Day 1 in Amsterdam!

Day 1: June 16th finally arrived, and to say I was nervous would be an understatement! My best friend (Chiara) and I checked in and went through TSA together. The TSA process felt like an eternity, and even after getting through, it was hard to believe I was actually going to Amsterdam. The plane ride was smooth, though like many others, I wished for more legroom. We landed exactly at 10:26 AM local time (which would have been 4:26 AM in New York) at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Exiting the airport was straightforward, but it still didn't quite feel real. We had hoped to take the train, but unfortunately, there was a train strike the day we arrived, talk about bad timing! We tried to get an Uber, but it was impossible, so we opted for a local airport taxi. We actually ended up at the wrong Ibis hotel at first, but thankfully, we made it to the correct one: the Ibis Stopera To our relief, the hotel let us check in early. After checking in, Dr. Novich told us to freshen up because we were about to have our first meal in Amsterdam! Chiara and I were pinching ourselves, trying to fully grasp that we had made it. We quickly got ready and met Dr.Novich and the other girls in the lobby. We walked along the canal, taking in all the sights. Dinner was delicious! We went to Dr. Novich’s favorite spot, The Chicken Bar. The service, ambiance, and food were all absolutely perfect. Afterward, the girls and I decided to walk around a bit more before heading back to the hotel later that evening. I was beyond grateful for the experience I was about to go through for the next few days coming up
