Barcelona, Spain: Exploring the city

 Monday April 13th, 2026

I've been in Barcelona for two months and two weeks so far, and the first thing I learned was that the pace of life here is incredibly slow. But it makes you really take in everything you see. There are always people who sit outside and talk for hours, and the elders who play in the park with their friends. It seems as though everyone really enjoys their life and uses it to its fullest extent each day. This has allowed me to slow down my pace, take deep breaths, and realize how special life really is. There is no rush; the days seem so much longer here. One of my favorite things to do is to go see the sunset by the beach. No matter how cold or how hot, there are always people by the beach with their friends or family. Everyone just enjoys each other's company, and it's a feeling I was missing back at home for a while. Living in Barcelona and exploring has changed my outlook on life, and I'm so thankful I get to recall this moment in my life.
