Hello Jaspers,
A little information on Plaza de Cibeles: it is the place where the soccer team of Real Madrid goes to celebrate when they win a match. Other than that, I do not know much about it. It is stunning, and a must-see when visiting Madrid.
We (Marina, my new flatmate, and me) started our journey yesterday in the afternoon and this is what we saw:

We (Marina, my new flatmate, and me) started our journey yesterday in the afternoon and this is what we saw:
This is Centro Cibeles de Cultura y Ciudadanía. Marina bought us tickets (2 Euros for each one of us) to go to the top and see the city of Madrid in all its splendor. From up there you can also see the Plaza de Cibeles. Photo credit: Karina Ozuna.
This is Plaza de Cibeles viewed from the 5th floor of the Centro de Cultura.
Here we were already in the top of the building, and as you can see the West side of Madrid is the view right here.
This is a panoramic photo of everything I could see from the point I was in the tower.
That's me, leaning over the side, with Marina trying to capture the Plaza and the fountain.
The only selfie I have ever liked of any human being (no offense to anyone) is this one because in the back it has the Plaza de Cibeles.
Another panoramic, from a slightly different side of the tower.
The Spanish flag at day (left) and night (right) could be seen from the building.
The fountain looks prettier at night (in my humble opinion).
The Centro Cultural at night is to die for, too.
That illuminated building is the Palacio de Linares, where hispanic culture is promoted.
There are dozen of glassworks in the Centro Cultural, so these are just two examples of them.
I think that's it for today. Stay tune for my next post where I'll be writing about the culture shocks I have encountered.

It is great to read of your Madrid adventures. Keep them coming.
