Galway

November 29th
This morning I spent the time getting settled back into Galway. Since our exams are starting and everyone’s leaving at different times, our housemates and I decided this would be the best time to have a going away dinner. Bridget and I are going home to New York and our housemate is going to Paris for an Engineering internship. I brought them back NY Ranger gear from home and they loved it! We went to dinner at the diner near our house called Scottie’s. They thought it’d be the best place because it’s American theme. After dinner, we headed to the Galway Christmas Market. It was a great night! Bridget and I will definitely miss them.

November 30th
Bridget and I traveled from Galway to Belfast today. We were spending the weekend there to watch the Manhattan College Jaspers participate Belfast Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. It was a long journey, but we were very excited.

December 1st
Bridget and I spent the morning touring around Belfast. I really love Belfast. It is a great city with a cool vibe. We then headed to Pre-Game before the Manhattan game. There we met up with friends from MC. I was great to see these familiar faces. This was followed by the game. Ias great to be here to cheer on the Jaspers. Manhattan were victorious over Holy Cross and were heading to the championship game tomorrow. Bridget and I got some dinner and walked around the amazing Belfast Christmas Market.

December 2nd
Bridget and I started the day off with the Belfast Black Taxi tour. This was a political tour that explained to us the history of the troubles that occurred between Catholics and Protestants. This tour was very interesting and moving. That afternoon we headed toward the Titanic Quarter before the championship game. We did the tour around the Titanic museum and loved it . After we stopped into a cafe for coffee. When we made our way to the counter, the friendly worker informed us that this was a Catholic charity cafe and they only accept donations. He gave us a cup of tea and a sweet treat. The cafe was adorable and comfy. This small place was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We then made our way to the Manhattan College versus Towson championship game. And it was some game! Although Manhattan fell short with just a few seconds left, It was a great game to watch. Bridget and I then headed to the Christmas market and got some dinner from the food trucks. It was a wonderful day.

December 3rd
We started our morning with breakfast and then made our journey back to Galway. When we got home, we went to mass and had dinner together. It was then study time.

December 4th, December 5th, December 6th
These days were filled with lots of studying and writing. I had two final exams for the semester and three papers. While it was quite stressful, it was great feeling once it was all complete.

December 7th
Today I was able to rest and start getting some things together. Bridget and I took a walk around town. Galway is a beautiful city, but it is even more at Christmas time.
