First day in Rome

On the first day that I was in Rome, my class was taken on a Pilgrimage, one similar to the ones people actually took in ancient times. A pilgrimage is a journey, often into an unknown or foreign place, where a person goes in search of new or expanded meaning about their self, others, nature, or a higher good through the experience. Often pilgrimages relate to a religious experience.

Our pilgrimage began in Spagna at the Spanish steps. We climbed up the steps and took in the beautiful view of the city we were about to spend the next three months living in.

Walking through the streets of Rome
After the Spanish steps we walked through the town and made our way to Vatican City. We ended our pilgrimage, like many other pilgrims, in Saint Peter's Basilica.
