Studying in Barcelona has been truly magical but two of my favorite nights were spent on Fede's Farmhouse. High in Figaro- Montmany there is Fede's 16th-century farmhouse overlooking the city below where a tree makes the best oranges I have ever tasted and Coco, his dog, plus his two cats keep you company on hikes and ready for morning belly rubs. Each day, Fede would make us the most delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. We were served the best coffee or thyme tea, fresh eggs from the chickens, lamb that was cooked overnight in the 24-hour oven, and homemade Crema Catalana, which is similar to a creme brulee. Both days felt like a dream and the perfect place to connect with my classmates as we watched the sunset and split oranges. The cold temperature in the morning and at night would remind us of how high we were in the mountain but we would be hit with the warmness of the sun hitting us as we planted bean and pea seeds in his garden or had outdoor lunch. I am so thankful Fede gave us the opportunity to stay at his home, where he would constantly "My home is your home" and he truly made us feel like it.
