Bonjour! After having a weeks worth of gloomy weather in Paris, we took full advantage of the first sunny day we had here. A couple of my friends and I chose Friday, January 3rd, to go see the Eiffel Tower, and try to get all the way up to the top. Our first attempt did not go as planned, they closed the top part when we were about 10 people away from getting our tickets. Since it was such a clear night (and there aren't many of those here), and since we waited in line for over an hour, we decided to make the most of it and just go to the second floor. Although the pictures don't do it justice, it was an amazing view, we could see so far. Once we took it all in and went back down to the bottom to leave, we noticed the top part was open again. We decided to wait back in line, get new tickets, and journey to the top. This time, to ensure we would get tickets we climbed the stairs to the second floor instead of taking the elevator up the whole way. As exhausting as that was, after walking all day exploring, it was so worth it. The view from the top was absolutely amazing! We continued the adventure after leaving the Eiffel Tower and took full advantage of the beautiful evening, so instead of taking the Metro home, we decided to bike back. First we biked to The Trocadero, took some pictures, and then biked back to our hotel. We made it all the way back to the hotel without using directions! Biking around Paris is such a fun way to explore the city.
