Wow. Where do I even begin. I've only been in Venice for four days but I feel as though I've spent a lifetime here. I've already experienced so much, learned so much, and seen so much. There is so much that want to share with you but if I did I would miss out on everything that is waiting for me away from my keyboard. So... in order to give you a glimpse of my current life, I'll sum it up with some beautiful moments. I found romance with a blue haired Bulgarian girl, pet a church cat, received an amazing deal on a flying light-up toy then immediately broke it, danced the night away with a 60 year old Venetian woman, and caught bronchitis. But in all seriousness, with all the amazing fun I've had, I've also learned quite a bit about Venetian culture and the nature of its people. There is a welcoming spirit here that really embraces foreigners. It's so easy to form relationships and engage in banter with folks despite the language barrier. The native Venetians and other tourists are open to communicate despite difficulties. The food has also been eye-opening and I've been adventurous (more than usual) in trying new foods, such as clam pasta and gnocchi.
